Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez has been a Mexican American actress, singer and songwriter for several years. She was raised by her mother and her father, in USA. Her childhood was filled with racist taunts and made to feel unwanted. When she was in 9th grade she felt more comfortable after she was praised by her teachers for her performance at school's audition. Not only did she gain confidence from the experience however, she also re-evaluate her career goals. At 22 she was a graduate of New York's Julliard School. Her professional career began when she was 23 years old, appearing in Paul Simon's The Capeman on Broadway and the film You've Got Mail. The most notable success of her career came in the role of The Lady of The Lake as Spamalot's first Broadway production. In addition to being the only actress to get the Tony Award, but her performance was also highly praised by the critics. The following year, in 2007 she was cast on the ABC series Grey's Anatomy and became more popular. As a well-known singer, she has also released a single as well as an extended version of her play. In addition, she has been an advocate for LGBT issues.
