Anna Leigh Ashford
Annaleigh Amanda Ashford is an American actor, singer, and dancer. Her early Broadway roles include Wicked Legally Blonde & Hair. Her first Tony Award was given to Ashford for her role as Essie Carmichael, in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashford, a Tony Award-winning actor and director, has spent the majority of her career working with famous directors and actors both on screen and in television. Ashford next will star opposite Kumail in Robert Siegel's exclusive Hulu series Welcome to Chippendales which premieres the 22nd of November. Ashford is currently working on Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust opposite Sarah Paulson, Ebon Moss Bachrach and Ebon Mosch Bachrach. The movie will air on Disney DTC in the form of an Hulu Original. Ashford will return to Broadway in March 2023, where he will star alongside Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production will be held at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. This production will be led by Thomas Kail and produced by Jeffrey Seller, the team that created Hamilton. Ashford has most recently played Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment based on the nation's crisis, which swept into Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters in the country's first impeachment trial in more than one century. In two seasons, Ashford was the main character of CBS's hit comedy B Positive. The show was written by Marco Pennette, Chuck Lorre and Linda Lavin. It also had Ben Vereen and Elizondo. Additional Broadway credits include Sunday in the Park with George Wicked Legally Blonde and her first role as Lauren In Kinky Boots a performance for which she also received a Tony Award nomination. Her birthplace and childhood was in Denver Ashford is now dividing the time in Los Angeles and New York.
